Daniel Slovinsky

Ever since I learned how to automate parts of a former job, I have become obsessed with streamlining and optimizing tasks and applications to create smooth and efficient workflows and user experiences.
As a driven, experienced, self-taught front-end engineer, I pride myself on continually rethinking and expanding upon my skillset and development patterns in order to best put that dedication into practice.
But learning is as much my passion as coding is, and I'm always looking for more opportunities to work with new teams, build upon my experience with various tech stacks, and expand into new areas.

Alchemy Dapp Store
Tools used: Cloudflare, Nextjs, React, Typescript, Tailwind, and moreAlchemy's Dapp Store is a searchable database of web3 decentralized applications. I built the full frontend as well as a serverless backend that uses Cloudflare KV to cache and optimize requests to a pre-existing Airtable DB. Changes are processed via a sophisticated revalidation pipeline to keep content up-to-date while preserving fast page speeds.

Calendly
Tools used: Gatsby, React, Typescript, Contentful, Styled Components, GraphQL, and moreI led a Webstacks 1.5+ year engagement to refactor Calendly's marketing site in order to make better use of Contentful's content modeling system to provide for a better modular content editing experience, enabling their marketing team to generate hundreds of new pages with little effort. I also migrated their blog site and implemented new redesigns of components and templates.

Justworks
Tools used: Gatsby, React, Typescript, GraphQL, Contentful, Styled Components, Material UI, and moreI led a 1+ year Webstacks engagement to fully recreate and expand Justworks' Ruby-on-Rails marketing website using React, Gatsby, and the Webstacks UI Library. I handled or assisted with nearly every aspect of the project, including building out components and templates, migrating content, and improving site performance.

Webstacks UI Library
Tools used: React, Typescript, Storybook, TailwindCSS, Jest, and moreI led the creation of a UI Library for Webstacks that would serve as a launching point for all new Webstacks projects, ultimately forming the basis for dozens of websites built by a variety of teams. This includes boilerplate, useful utility functions, guides, Storybook, and a host of pre-built components.

Verd.es
Tools used: Next.js, React, Typescript, Google Maps API, Tailwind, SASS, and moreI built the frontend for Verd.es: a small site that provided users in Spain with locations and information about nearby marijuana dispensaries using the Google Maps API. In addition to creating the map I refactored all existing pages to improve speed by over 90%.
